Gala 2012: Celebrating Outstanding Lifetime Achievement
The Benefit Gala for the eleventh Kyoto Prize Symposium will be held in San Diego on

This black-tie gala will celebrate the 27th annual Kyoto Prize laureates and fund the 2012-2013 Kyoto Prize Scholarships.
The event will serve as the distinguished opening ceremony for the 2012 Symposium, with free public lectures and presentations by the laureates at San Diego State University; University of California, San Diego; and University of San Diego. In addition, the Gala will introduce the recipients of the 2012-2013 Kyoto Prize Scholarships, which will be awarded to three students from San Diego County and three from greater Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Each student will receive a college scholarship valued at up to $10,000 for the 2012-2013 academic year. Additional $2,500, $1,000 and $100 awards will be made to more than 25 other students.
